Centre piece of Glasgow Cross is, of course the Tollbooth steeple which has stood there for many years, and has seen many changes over the time it has been there. This painting depicts the area around about the 1890s. It is viewed from Gallowgate looking towards Trongate. It is an impression of what it would have looked like back then.
