Wedding Scramble

£40.00£60.00

A custom which, over the years, has largely died out in the west of Scotland, is that of throwing money away — at weddings. It was customary for the groom and his best man to save their pennies for days, in the run-up to the big day. news of a wedding spread quickly among children and they would gather in numbers. As the car departed, pennies were thrown from the moving cars, much to the delight of the waiting children, while adults stood looking on — maybe wishing they could join in.
