Thomas McGoran was born in Ayrshire in 1927. Although he was fond of drawing in his Glasgow schooldays, Tommy didn’t start painting until his retirement in 1988. His wife Jenny’s gift of oil paints and brushes rekindled his love of art and gave him the chance to try a new medium. Drawing on his mum’s teachings when he was a boy, Tommy developed his own style and created the paintings on display today.
